Beginning Wet Feting
What is wet felting? Soap water and friction are used to make fiber or wool turn into felt fabric. Alpaca fiber, sheep's wool, mohair and angora fiber can all be wet felted. In this class we will learn basic wet felting techniques. At Nyala Farm we use our own fibers to create pictures, wall hangings, beads and sculpture cores using wet felting techniques. You do not need any knitting or sewing skills to wet-felt. I will provide instructions, a mat useful for wet felting and fiber for a few projects. When you are done you with have a sample piece of fabric to take home, some felted beads and the skills needed to make more projects! |
