Investment Partnerships
Investment partnerships can be a viable alternative to the individual(s) who are interested in the alpaca industry and who want to become involved but may not own a farm currently or who may be involved in work that may preclude farm owners or any of a number of reasons. Some may want to get involved with a mentoring partner who can help the investor learn about the business and about alpacas without being solely responsible for the decisions made. Others may feel intimated about all the nuances of farm and/or livestock ownership.
Partnerships can take a variety of forms; it all depends on how the two partners decide to run their business in a mutually agreed upon way. Thus, one size fits all type of plan might not work and there may be varying circumstances. Some investors may want to be involved in a 50-50 partnership; others may prefer more or less than 50-50.

Pricing and Terms
Price and terms would be mutually agreed upon and could involve various options such as: livestock only investment; investment in both the breeding and fiber industry; involvement and investment in only the fiber portion of the business which could include processing and selling fiber, making alpaca items to be sold, selling alpaca clothing and items already made, and investment in processing equipment such as the feltLOOM to make unique, high quality items for retail sales! |

The alpaca industry in a growing one that is eco-friendly and may be one for additional income and to supplement retirement plans. We need to grow our national herd and there is much to be done with fiber production, marketing, and sales.
