| | | Proven, attentive mom who has easy births. She is a large framed alpaca, calm, easy to work with, and a daughter of the famed Canadian herdsire Casanova II, who, reportedly, had a micron value of 21 at age 11! She remains healthy and vigorous, the herd matriarch. She's a good foundation girl, an "easy keeper", who, I expect, will give me at least a few more wonderful cria before she is retired. Her breeding history has produced cria from all over the color chart: white-fawn-brown-bay black and, most recently, she had a beautiful dark rose grey female cria born in August, the daughter of a silver grey male. Her next service sire is Leapold from BellaVista Farm, a grandson of two famed herdsires, PPPeruvian Mr. President and 4Peruvian Ajax, and also a great-grandson of PPPeruvian King. Mr. President is one of the most recognized full Accoyo herdsires. | |

Cassi's fleece is coming in with wonderful density and crimp. There is beautiful blending of the rose and silver grey throughout her blanket, and it seemed to be growing in quite dark grey as the winter progressed. When shorn, I discovered dark spotting over the ridge of her back and a strip of silver grey across her blanket area until now not noticed at all! As the fleece grows back in this summer, the rosey grey is coming back. The overall effect was uniform when she was in full fleece. Tuxedo neck markings, a grey and black tipped tail and lots of rose grey on her legs make for one lovely package. The bonus is that she has her dam's calm demeanor! Does well haltered and on lead.
