A Sollocota import from Peru, Misty Maiden is the heart and soul of our breeding program. She is commonly referred to as the "Dam of the Century" and holds the title of being a record setting female selling for $205,000 in December of 2005.
If you’ve ever shown in the fawn classes, then you've probably run into the Misty Maiden bloodline. Misty's offspring and grand-offspring have dominated the show circuit since 1998 with her first daughter, Precious Fawn, a 7-time champion who we also own. Now, as of March 2008, the bloodline has earned over 65 championships and 80 blue ribbons

Even Misty’s grand-offspring carry on her superb genetics and include multi-champions such as: Undefeated 7 -time Champion, SCA P. Precious Angel(F) ; 2 -time Champion, SCA Apollo’s P. Pegasus(F) ; and 6 -time Champion FRA Lucero(M)- who's fawn fleece also won the coveted Reserve Championship at 2005 AOBA Nationals.
Tuscan Gold is setting a new standard of excellence. He is a complete package of perfect conformation, elite fleece characteristics with excellent bundling, brightness, crimp and uniformity. The brightness of his fleece rivals suri luster. He has total coverage of this fleece from his spectacular head to his toes. And does he have presence! He just knows he is something special. When we check his sheared fleece in at the shows, it invariably gathers admirers and then further inquiry on which animal this fleece belongs to. This fleece has earned multiple championships and every specialty ribbon there is, Judge's Choice, Best Brightness, Best Crimp, etc.
Tuscan was chosen as the 2007 breeding partner for the one and only Misty Maiden, Dam of the Century, and several of her daughters, all champions. To many watchful observers, this was the MOST eagerly anticipated birth of 2008. This spectacular little "Babe in the Woods" is the result of, "Dam of the Century" Misty Maiden and Multiple Color Champion, Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold from Colorado. This is the GOLD standard of elite East Coast/West Coast genetics on both sides. "WOW" is all we can say! Beautiful fawn fleece with character that already portends just how special this girl is. With this lineage there are of course lofty expectations for this promising little girl. For now, at 17lbs and growing she's off to a healthy start with an attentive and nurturing Mom in Misty Maiden to guide her along. Stay tuned as we update photos and text in the weeks to come...
By the way, for those counting Mirabelle is Misty's third girl in row....2006, 2007, and 2008! Her daughter of last year who we own, Miss May, is everything one would expect in quality of a Misty daughter. Misty's beautiful silver-grey daughter of two years ago, Silverbelle, was sold to Mary Forte Goodman, and, in customary fashion went on to win Color Champion at 2007 AOBA Nationals. We anticipate that Mirabelle will continue the same heralded path as her siblings.
A few words about Tuscan Gold....Tuscan, owned by Bella Vita Ranch in Colorado, is full Peruvian and 3/4 Accoyo. He is an Augusto grandson and Leon great grandson through his sire and a Starr Khan grandson and Hemingway great grandson through his dam. With these great names in his pedigree, it is easy to see why he gathered multiple color championships at just barely 2 years of age.
