The rare and interestingly colored dam is presently bred for a summer 2010 cria, to Guellermo's Peruvian Checkmate...a bold, bay black stud with a gorgeous head, wonderful dense and crimpy fleece and excellent bone structure. She was bred last year but somewhere along the way during the winter she slipped that pregnancy and was re-bred when Checkmate came to stand stud on the Close-Knit farm this season.
Mocha Rain is very unusually colored with dark, dark brown and black all throughout her body. Her yarn is spectacular and unique! She is definitely considered a "Fancy," and based on her first cria turning out to be a dark rose grey appaloosa, I am leaning toward calling her one of the darkest rose greys you will ever see as an explanation for all that black, dark fiber mixed onto her body in spots and stripes with the dark brown base yet not creating a "bay black." No, she is quite fancy, but with no white spot whatsoever on her anywhere.
Her conformation is straight as an arrow, and this 3/4 Peruvian daughter of the famed appaloosa champion, Peruvian Curly Calib, possesses a nice head, as well.
Mocha Rain is inquisitive, friendly and a lot of fun to be around. She's been growing up in a very friendly herd receiving a lot of hands on attention and a great deal of LOVE...and it SHOWS.
