Asante is the first offspring of another of our foundation females, Victor's Hemiaccoyo Pearldrop, and she has grown into a solid female who, as the photo here shows, has exceptional fleece character. Asante took a second place behind our own Poppy at the 2005 Big E, and she took a third place at the 2005 NE Coastal Classic.
Asante gave birth November 1, 2008 to a beautiful 7/8 Accoyo, white female named Calidad North Country Pearl, sired by PRA Armando. Asante was held over the winter. We have bred Asante to Leonardo this spring and are awaiting confirmation.
We are very excited to have this gentlemen join our herdsire team. Full Accoyo, he is the grandson of Shere Kahn, one of the most noted alpacas in the world. His father, Allen Cappic was sold to Australia quite soon after arriving in the US and only sired 8 children during his brief stay in America.
Armando is big boned and straight allowing him to move very well. As for his fleece, it has kept its character and handle incredibly well in to his 7th year. He is so dense it is nearly impossible to get the scissors in there to take a fiber sample. We braved it out however, and check out his fiber statistics from his 7th fleece below.
Hilltop and our Clients delight each year in the quality of offspring we all gain from these Armando Genetics. They are a incredible addition to our farms and the judges like them quite a bit as well as they have had incredible sucess in the ring. Armando is truly a consistent male, dont miss this opportunity to add these Accoy
CALIDAD NORTH COUNTRY PEARL (ACCOYO ARMANDO DAUGH)
Everyone who comes to our farm knows PEARL! PEARL is our MISS CONGENIALITY. PEARL has PERSONALITY PLUS! It is worth coming to our farm just to meet our PEARL - PEARL LOVES EVERYONE AND EVERYONE LOVES PEARL!!! We feel very lucky to have PEARL, a PRA Accoyo Armando daughter in our herd. Armando has passed away so we feel particularly blessed with PEARL.
Very bright, dense fine fleece with a nice architectural style covers PEARL completely from her topknot to her tail to her toes. An endless list of top-flight genetics comes together in PEARL: Armando, Allin Capac, Caligula, Jedi Accoyo of the USA, Victor, and Hemingway.
PEARL WAS BRED TO OLIVER FOR A 2011 CRIA. WOW - WHAT A CRIA PEARL & OLIVER PRODUCED! PEARL had her first cria, a white female, sired by our 7 X CHAMPION OLIVER on July 3rd, 2011. PEARL gave birth completely unassisted and is an excellent mother. We have named our new little cria SLEEPING MONK FARM OLIVER'S PIPPA! And believe me, she is a PIPPA and as friendly as her Mother!
We re-bred PEARL to OLIVER to make sure this amazing cria was not a fluke and on July 9th, 2013, PEARL had an even more amazing male cria whom we have named SLEEPING MONK FARM OLIVER'S PERUVIAN PUCK!
Because we are downsizing, we have decided to sell PEARL and keep her OLIVER daughter PIPPA. PEARL is now available for the first time since we have owned her, re-bred to OLIVER...why tempt fate? They produce amazing cria together.
Awards Received SLEEPING MONK FARM ALPACAS PEOPLE PLEASER CHAMPION. You'll know PEARL when you visit us. She'll be the alpaca allowing hugs and giving kisses!
