Malia is a full Peruvian out of Peruvian Aladdin. She has proven to be an excellent mother with an ideal temperament. We adore Malia's elegant look and are thrilled with the quality of her offspring. Sweet Pines Springs, her 2005 cria, took first place in the Fiber Odyssey Spin-off 2006 & 6th place in the National AOBA Spin-off 2007. 2008's cria, Austin, is a gorgeous beige male out of Grazing Hills Maximus. He has wonderful conformation and crimpy soft fleece that we LOVE to put our hands on every chance we get. Luckily, Malia also passes on her friendly, docile personality - a trait that makes for personable and easy-to-handle crias. Furthermore, Malia is aging exceptionally well. She continues to produce healthy crias, easy pregnancies, and plenty of milk. We can always count on her to be a spectacular, loving and attentive mother.
El Campeon's offspring are proving to be well-conformed, crimpy, and uniform. He has improved upon the dam in uniformity, handle, coverage, crimp amplitude, and even personality. He is producing incredible fineness as low as 14 microns! One breeder said of their Champ cria, "he is a beautiful male with the best fleece on our farm - ultra fine, silky, and very crimpy!"
El Campeon (Champ) has a luscious medium to dark fawn AWARD-WINNING FLEECE that you can't keep your hands off and a head & coverage you can't keep your eyes off. The first thing you notice about Champ besides his gentle yet confident demeanor is his FULL COVERAGE from head to toe. At further inspection, his SOFT HANDLE, DENSITY, AND UNIFORM CRIMP abound throughout his fleece. And the judges agree. Among Champ's many fleece awards includes a FIRST PLACE at the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show in 2008; judge's comments were that he was "the Clear Winner with very much the higher score, very good staple length
Tundra has solid conformation, tremendous substance of bone, and quality fleece characteristics, including wonderful brightness, length, density, and one of the heaviest cutting fleeces on our ranch. She is now bred to Diomedes' Dirk of Stirling Ridge, a stud whose first fleece had a 100% comfort factor. His fineness and uniformity even as he ages is exactly what the industry is aiming for!
Highlights GENETICS: Sire's side: Peruvian Felix, Peruvian El Moustachio, & Peruvian Don Julio. Dam's side: Peruvian Aladdin
FLEECE: absolutely amazing length and wonderful brightness, with a nice soft handle and density
CONFORMATION: such strong bone, a healthy, well-conformed, balanced girl
Tundra's sire, EL CAMPEON, is a first place award winner for his terrific fleece he produces so much of every year. He has maintained his fineness well into his breeding years and is passing on his desirable fleece characteristics. Tundra's dam is one of our first purchases and still one of our favorite personalities. She makes taking care of alpacas easy and delightful, and has been an attentive and caring mother from the beginning.
Check out Diomedes' Dirk of Stirling Ridge on their website: www.stirlingridgealpacas.com. He is an excellent match for Tundra with his advanced fineness and beautiful bundling fleece. Plus he takes after his sire in his macho presence and handsome head. Tundra has been very motherly to her younger siblings and is bound to be quite wonderful with her own cria.
