Hawthorne is one of those alpacas that everyone who comes on the farm picks out. His fiber draws ohh's and ahh's. It is bright as new mined coal, and crimpy, crimpy, crimpy. Unfortunately, he is not as dense as today's highest quality herd sires.
His dam is an Aussie Rockford daughter and his sire is a champion fawn male from the Presidio/Bueno line.
This young lad is incredibly mellow. During a recent farm tour he stood very quietly while a darling two year old girl petted his head and ears.
In short, Hawthorne is one of those alpacas that breaks a breeder's heart. He's SO close to breeding quality, but still not there.
He would be an awesome 4-H and fiber male.
He sells at this ridiculously low price by himself, if you have other alpacas, or with a buddy for $350 for the pair if you don't. The price does not include gelding or his papers. When he is old enough to be gelded, his papers will be released once we have proof of gelding. Or... if you want to take a chance on this guy as a breeder, keep him intact, and once he begins his breeding career, pay another $1,000 and see what he can do.
