ALH Goldilocks' Amara

Amara is a very curious and bold girl with great conformation. She has the background and build that should make for a great foundation female. We are hoping for many great cria from her. Her fleece is stunning and we're looking forward to many ribbons and fine products to come from her fiber.

Amara is bred to Vortex, an Accoyo Elite son, who is owned by Alpaca Heights. His cria have all exhibited soft bright fleece. The first match-up between Amara's genetics and Vortex's were fantastic. Amara's first cria was a light fawn girl that has super soft, bright fleece. We're anxious to get the first shearing from her. Stayed tuned. We were so happy with the results of the first breeding that we repeated it and are looking forward to another dynamo.

Update: Vortex's first colored offspring has just been born in June 2010 and she's light fawn from a lt. fawn dam! Very bright and fine.

Vortex has his first 7 crias on the ground and they are all exhibiting fine, BRIGHT fleeces which is what we were hoping for! Plan a visit to the farm and get your hands into their fiber. We think you'll be impressed. We purchased Vortex with the intent to breeding FINENESS, FINENESS, FINENESS in our light breeding program that lingers on for many years.

Vortex is a rare Full Accoyo male from Multi-Champion producing parents. We are thrilled to have acquired him from Pleasant Hills Alpacas in Oregon where we had a choice of 3 Accoyo Elite sons to choose from. When Vortex was conceived outside breedings to his sire Accoyo Elite were available at $6000 each. Elite is now closed to outside breedings at Crescent Moon Ranch where he resides. His micron at 10 years of age was an impressive 22.8. You will find lots of references to A
