First Edition, call name Effie, is THE foundation female at Tanglewood Farm since she was also the first cria born to the farm here. She is a good mix of Chilean, Bolivian and U.S. lines, statuesque, very healthy, true black, black girl with a commanding presence.

Effie's fiber is very soft, long, and lustrous and spins up into a lovely yarn. Her fiber is so black it almost looks blue. Her spun yarn placed sixth in the spun yarn competition at Ohio Alpaca Fest in 2005.

When bred to black, or a male that produces black, Effie has produced nothing but black. Her first two crias were true black females, her third was a true black male, and she produced a rose gray female this year when bred to a rose gray. We feel sure that Effie will make someone an excellent foundation female because she consistantly delivers her crias without problems, has plenty of milk, and superior mothering skills.
