Hootalinqua consistently produces outstanding quality cria, and is an exceptional mom. Her offspring gain 1 to 1.5# per day with IgG's above 2000. Even at her age, she is a beauty to behold. Every breeding has produced color, primarily black, with beautiful conformation, fiber, and sweet temperaments. Her offspring are winning multiple ribbons, and 2 won Championships. Last year Hootalinqua delivered the most stunning fawn male, Raphael, sired by Bel Canto's Bellagio. This was the first time she's been bred to a light male, and she produced a beauty. Raphael has superb fleece and confirmation qualities and Hoot's beautiful face.
There was no hesitation about who to rebreed Hoot to this year, Bellagio was the man: we are hoping to duplicate Raphael (only maybe a girl this time).
Hoot has been such a fantastic foundation female, producing multiple champions and ribbon winning offspring She has been healthy since day one and delivers with ease.
NEWS UPDATE! Bellagio's first two offspring, Bel Canto's Raphael and Bellagio's Maxwell of Cabin View Farm were awarded a 1st and 2nd place at MAPACA. We could not be prouder of what Bellagio is producing.
Bel Canto Farm is proud to introduce you to our stunning ¾ Peruvian, ½ Accoyo beige sire Bellagio. Bellagio has received top awards in every show including AOBA Nationals and The Futurity for his excellence in phenotype. Bellagio backs up his good looks with strong lineage from his Full Accoyo Sire, PRA Armando and ½ Peruvian dam, GMF Audrie. Both parents have produced top quality offspring year after year and descend from a long line of impact alpacas such as Accoyos Shere Kahn and Patagonias Danko.
Bellagio is a robust male who exhibits outstanding conformation and fleece qualities. He stands very straight, with a broad chest and very strong hindquarters. His teeth and jaw are perfectly aligned and his head is very masculine.
We are very delighted to welcome Bellagio's first offspring to our herd. He is an outstanding representative of Bellagio's quality, sporting lovely uniform fleece with knock-out brightness, amazing crimp covering his entire body and density. I just love opening that fleece up! He was born with very straight legs, beautiful confirmation and the most handsome head. Raphael stands proud and confident.
His dam Hootalinqua is an amazing foundation female. A great mom, with an amazing milk supply, allows her offspring to gain between 1 pound and 1.5 pounds a day. Raphael's IgG was 3500. Very vigorous at birth and standing in 15 minutes.
And of course his sire, Bel Canto's Bellagio, descends from the great Sher Kahn, who has limited genetics in the states but is one of the biggest impact males in the history of the alpaca. Bellagio's sire Armando, continued to sire offspring with outstanding bright, dense and fine fleece. Bellagio earned himself numerous awards in FF halter and Fleece shows including a Reserve Championship and Blue ribbons. He was a fourth place at The Futurity and took a 3rd place at the 2009 AOBA Nationals in the composite class (his fleece took first).
