CHF's Lady Yelena
Medium Silver Grey, 31670609, 1/2 Peruvian
Breeding for grey can be a challenge and we've found the results are always exciting. Lena's dam is one our our best females and we put a lot of thought into who we breed her to. When the opportunity to bring My Peruvian Fire-N-Ice to Cedar Hollow presented itself our search for Lucille's mate was over. Lena is the result of this pairing and we couldn't be happier. Dark eys, long staple, soft hand, nice crimp and wonderful personality.
Come and take a look at her in person or, if that's not possible, call and I'll send samples and more pictures. Her 2010 histogram just arrived and I'm very pleased. Check out her numbers. If you're looking for that "special grey lady" or have a male that needs an outstanding female...you can't go wrong with Lena.
We sent Lena home with our friend Jim Post of Alpacas of Buffalo Creek to take care of the breeding business. Jim has a tuxedo grey male that we really liked, ABC Ike. He was dense with wonderful crimp and not
Medium Silver Grey, 31633192, Peruvian
ABC Ike's sire was the first grey male to be chosen as the Supreme Huacaya Male and an International Show. Judged by Julio Sumar.
We searched a lot of grey males to find the right one for Yelena. Our friend, Jim Post, had a male at The Mid America Alpaca Show 2010 that we liked a lot. ABC Ike was a nice size male, not a real big guy, really dense and high frequency crimp. Lena already had a low micron but needed density so we sent her home with Jim. The result of the breeding arrived in October 2011. He's BEAUTIFUL. Dark Silver grey, perfect tuxedo, dark eyes and dense, dense, dense! Everybody that comes to the farm comments on Vic's conformation and his dense fleece. He already looks like the stud he's surely to become. He's quite a eye catcher. Too bad we can't show him now! Vic's DNA card is ready to go and he's tested negative for BVD. All he needs is a family of his own.
Vic has been selected as one of the males for our New Marketing Program. Call today to make arrangements to meet him and discuss the details of his purchase.
The most recent picture taken just a few days ago (July 17, 2012) shows that Vic is growing into a beautiful male. He weighs 90 pounds. As hot and humid as our summer has been I'm not sure if he'll have any leg fiber left by fall. I spray every two hours and he's very dense so he needs the cool water.
Vic is a beautiful grey male. We had his fiber sorted by a certified sorter this year. Here are his numbers (2013) 1,2 with 2.05 pounds. Last years yarn was gorgeous and I'm sure this years will be too. He hasn't started his breading career yet. He's waiting for YOU!
