AdA Mocha's Athena

True Black, 830374, 1/2 Bolivian, 1/2 Chilean

Athena is our indescribably rich, black female cria out of dependable, true-black Pachamama and the magnificent coffee-brown herdsire, Bolivian Mocha. Her dark accents around legs and face, combined with her long black eyelashes and "oh-those-eyes", complete her goddess-like picture. Her dense fleece exhibits Mocha's signature crimp. Athena is a strong foundation female and is Esther's favorite. Athena is a very peaceful female, with superb mothering instincts and abundant milk.

  Derwydd Peruvian Acoyanza
    White, 822016, Full Peruvian

Accoyanza has become a comanding force on our herdsire row. He is a Hemingway x Vengador cross, and boy, does he live up to their reputation! His fleece has tremendous luster, very nice consistent crimp from head to tail, combining fabulous density with fineness. He has solid conformation, presence and a great head. This macho is cool, calm, collected; a natural showman. Acoyanza took a blue ribbon in full fleece, under Mary Reed, at 2002 SOJAA. A great Hemi-Accoyo cross whose sun is rising in the East. His first progeny have arrived this year, all exhibiting the same wonderful fleece characteristics and coverage as their sire!

We expect DoJO will do his Hemingway-Vengador ancestors proud. He has taken 1st at the 2007 AOBA National Handcrafter's Spinoff, after having taken a 2nd out of 15 at the same Show in 2006, in the highly competitive fawn class. He took a 1st out of 6 in the same class at the Empire Fleece Event in 2006.

Acoyanza's DoJo is a magnificent male. He is all we expected, and more. His fleece is a superb, brilliant, coppertone dark fawn; very uniform in character and color, with a luscious soft hand. DoJo's has outstanding density; his fleece exhibits excellent crimp and staple formation; he has tremendous coverage. DoJo has a great head and stands erect and proud, as if he knows he is going places. We were so pleased DoJo that we re-bred his dam, Athena, to Acoyanza, for a repeat performance in 2005. The results, DoJo's full sibling, ADA Acoyanza's CopperPenny, did not disappoint us; CopperPenny is equally spectacular, a "female DoJo". DoJo was named in honor of our dear friend, warrior and fellow alpaca breeder, Don Joseph; we are confident he would have been pleased to have had DoJo named after him.

DoJo is an avid and confident breeder, typically settling females in one go-around. Dark fawn, with an elite fleece, covering black, Hemingway-Vengador roots---a surefire winner. Call for multiple breeding discounts.
