Horse Mountain is proud to have purchased Ruby Starlite from Spanish Peaks Alpacas. She is an outstanding female that will add superior genetics and quality to our herd. She is an award winner herself, coming from award winning lines and producing outstanding cria. We are waiting until Spring to rebreed her to Snowmass Black Passion!

If you are looking for a sire to enhance your line of Silky Alpacas, JJ is the one for you!!This is one of those boys that visitors notice in the field. JJ has the proud presence of both his multiple award winning sire(Castano Bay)and dam(Windsong's Chimes). He also has an absolutely gorgeous head. Artisans love the color and feel of his dams fiber and yarn. His fleece has a medium crimp and a very soft and silky handle. It is a stunning Mahogany color that causes you to take a second look. His histograms reveal good uniformity.

PLEASE NOTE: The consistancy in his histograms over a 3 year period.

This little female has presence! At this point she looks to be a dark rose gray. UPDATE: After shearing she appears to be a dark brown and dark fawn appaloosa. The light fibers I thought I was seeing in her fleece are actually a fawn that are coming from spots that are speckled throughout her fleece. I have no idea where this pattern came from!! I have tried to take a picture of her coloring and posted it in the photos to the right.

She comes from some strong genetics: 4Peruvian Black Magic, Peruvian Gold Rush, Hemingway and Victor. Her dam is one of our best foundation females, having produced our up and coming Horse Mountain's Trekker.
