Mona Lisa is just what you would expect for an alpaca daring to take that name- PERFECTION!!! This full-Peruvian girl has beautiful fleece, and perfect conformation. Her sire is El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo, a very rare full-Accoyo fawn, who won the Extreme Progeny award two years running for top light colored alpaca. With a breeding fee of $5000, a sales price in 2011 of $120,000, and with a micron count of 16.3!! Can you imagine what he would have sold for back in the heady days before the Great Recession hit? Two times, three times that? And Mona Lisa looks just like him.
Not to be outdone, her mother is MFI Peruvian Persia, a medium fawn multi who won her class at AOBA Nationals a few years back. Mona Lisa was just bred to High Meadow's newest contender, Jay Gatsby, who has some major bloodlines of his own as well as winning 6 purple championship banners.
We just had an incredible male cria early May that has every sign of being a herdsire to be! His fleece is stunning, conformation perfect, and we can't wait until 2014 to get him in the show ring! This breeding with Jay Gatsby will be a repeat in the Fall.
