A daughter of El Moustachio and granddaughter of Peruvian Don Julio, this vicuna patterned dam is the grand dam of our herd. She continues to maintain a fine fleece (20.7 microns at 10 years!) even while nursing fast growing healthy crias. Her offspring are high quality ribbon winners that exhibit their dam's same character and soft handle throughout the years. Tasha is a phenomenal mother.
Tasha's offspring include: Makella (2003) - multiple first place ribbons, reserve champion, excellent producer El Campeon (2004) - first and second place ribbons, successful herdsire Sequoia (2005) - color champion, producer of grey offspring Ciera (2006) - multiple ribbons, also a producer of grey offspring Bugatti (2007) - first place ribbons and color champion Astro (2008) - 16.9 microns! - extreme fineness and a very handsome boy 2009 - shew...a year off Rodeo (2010) - studly conformation, ultrafine rich solid brown fleece

Leche is a beautiful and sweet Spanish Peaks Banderas daughter. She has excellent fleece quality plus a lovely conformation, not to mention quite the eye-catching head. She is also a RESERVE CHAMPION for her fleece at IAO 2013!
Genetics: Leche's sire, Spanish Peaks Banderas has Victor and Pluro in his background, two top producing Peruvian studs. In fact both his parents are out of the Snowmass breeding program. He has won multiple championships and 11 blue ribbons in his show career, but more importantly he has produced top award winners, including a multi-champion son. Leche's dam, Tasha Yar, is the granddam of our herd - our very first purchase! She produced award winner after award winner. Her longevity of fineness amazed us and all of her offspring have that fineness along with her teddy bear look. Her genetics include top Peruvians El Moustachio and Don Julio.
Fleece: Leche's fleece is an extremely fine (16 microns!) and soft-handling rich brown, and she is covered with it from head to toe. She also has beautiful crimp, amazing brightness, and excellent length.
Conformation: She's got the look! Leche turns heads on our farm. She is correctly proportioned and has a very typey head with a good bite.
Leche would be a terrific addition to any color breeding program. She was the last cria born to our granddam before she passed away, making Leche extra special. Tasha snuck this one in without us knowing and thank goodness she did because Leche is a star.
