A descendant of The Silversmith, Amber has superb fleece - dense, fine, crimpy and lustrous. Amber's fleece finished second at the MAPACA Jubilee. We are most proud of that since the gestating female's fleece usually loses some fineness. Amber Rose also placed third at The Great Frederick Fair (shorn class)
ABQ Mephisto
True Black, American
One of the premier black herdsires in the country, Mephisto exploded with FIVE blue ribbons by the age of two including the prestigious AOBA and Estes Park shows in 1998. Mephisto has perfect and compact proportions and very dense coverage of crimpy, lustrous black fiber. His bone mass is exceptional and his intensely masculine presence and proud carriage are the hallmark of his lineage. His cria are a consistently outstanding group that have performed extremely well in the show ring. **************** UPDATE ******************
At the Virginia Classic in March 2003, Mephisto took first place in the Get of Sire class. The judge commented on the "cookie cutter" consistency in appearance and quality charachteristics of his three offspring. She also commented on the fact that all three offspring (B.B. King, Heartbreaker, Maximus) exhibit tremendous presence which is coming from the sire.
A beautiful dark maroon, Mephisto's Autumn Rose has nice crimp and architecture, and quite nice density to her uniform, bright fleece. This girl has perfect conformation in a compact package, just like her multiple 'Get of Sire' dad. She's a winner out of two stunning parents; her sire is multiple blue ribbon winner ABQ Mephisto, and her dam is our blue ribbon winner, STR Amber Rose. With bloodlines from General Schwartzkopf, Silverado and Peruvian Goldrush this girl is a genetic goldmine. Autumn Rose had a gorgeous true black daughter for us, sired by our Knight of Camelot! I have never seen a prettier black- she is blue-black, and has such fine, crimpy fiber. Black Magic Woman's a keeper! Autumn Rose was bred to El NIno's Accoyo Iago for a spring 2009 cria- she just delivered a gorgeous fawn daughter, with a splash of white on her topknot. This baby's got incredible brightness to her fleece, and beautiful, soft curls. What a winner! Mephisto's Autumn Rose sells with 2 additional rebreedings. We plan on breeding her with our light rose gray herdsire, Rosado, for a June 2010 cria.
