| | | Avalon's Laurel Rose is one alpaca I will never sell. She is the Rosie-apple of my eye and has been ever since I "found" her at the 2002 AOBA National Show. Rosie is that special alpaca who all of us look for, but rarely find. She has great conformation, she is extremely typey, she has wonderfully dense fiber with a great handle and great tactile charateristics. She is awesome! Thank you Carole and Donna of Avalon Farm Alpacas for this wonderful girl - she never disappoints me! Rosie has been bred to Shades of Gray and is now back at home awaiting her February cria. With the greys of Shades and Rosie's dam, we anticipate an amazing cria out of these two Show String Powerhouses. Male or female, we'll be thrilled! | |

Sleeping Monk Farm is very proud to introduce LikaRose. LikaRose is the first cria from my favorite alpaca, Avalon's Laurel Rose(Rosie). True to form, Rosie did not disappoint me. Rosie birthed easily, waiting for me to come home to do so, and she is proving to be a wonderful mother with plenty of milk. LikaRose is strong and healthy and very personable. Her fiber is very bright and crimpy, and she has great bone. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so take a look at these 5 of LikaRose. See what I mean! An Awesome Alpaca! Her sire is the well known Shades of Gray. He should be a very Proud Papa! We expect great things in the future from LikaRose, coming from these two Consistant Show Winners, Rosie and Shades. Lika will be ready for breeding either this Fall or in the Spring of 2007. I'm sure she will produce amazing cria. Financing Lika is one option, but if you would rather pay cash, we will reduce her price to $28,500. Don't miss this opportunity. As she gets closer to breeding age, we may put her in our foundation herd - SHE'S THAT GOOD!
Awards Received LikaRose's show debut was at The Big E in September 2005. Lika exceled at the Big E winning a Blue Ribbon and Reserve Color Champion of Light Huacayas at just 7 months of age!!! She wowed not only the judge, Jill McLeod, but many of the other breeders on hand for The Big E. Congratulations to Lika! She's following in her mother Rosie's footsteps and makin' us proud. Blue is very becoming on Lika, but she looks extremely pretty in purple! 2005 NECC 4th under Kristen Burhmann who stated "She was wet." Well, that's how most of the alpacas in "The Tent" were. The alpacas did not come from equal stalling conditions to the Ring at the NECC and that was truly a shame. People who were there know exactly what I mean. Hopefully, it will never happen again!
