  CPeruvian Black Hawk

A rare and special gift from the Inca Highlands, Black Hawk displays all the classic alpaca traits in a handsome, silky black package! Solid bone, excellent conformation and a superfine, high sheened, densely uniform fleece with luxurious handle have earned this macho two consecutive color championships at the Estes Park Wool Market, a First Place ribbon for fleece and a First Place halter ribbon at the '01 AOBA National show in Portland, OR. Black Hawk began his breeding career in May of '01. His first crias are consistently strong in every aspect of the alpaca 'quality spectrum'! We are very excited about his ability to pass not only his strong black genetics, but also the depth of the balanced package that so characterizes his own unique presence! Of the three crias that have been shown thus far, one was Color Champion at the Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver, CO (topping this year's AOBA Color Champion); another won First Place Juvenile Females at AOBA; and the third ear

Xena's 4th cria is a dark brown Winchester son! He feels incredibly dense & fine! We're excited about Hobby Horse Winchester's Warlord!

Xena's first three crias are Color Champions! A black female and male sired by Black Epic and a brown female sired by Winchester. Her 09 Winchester son not yet shown!

Skin biopsy results just in - at 5 years of age Xena has a "density of 57.5 follicles/sq mm and SP ratio of 11.6:1 (average of 'good' animals that Dr. Evans evaluates is 38 follicles/sq mm and 9:1 SP ratio). She shows awesome glands and low secondary medullation. Secondary fibers average 20.6 microns and primary fibers 26.2 microns. This variation is strong! ...top 1-2% of blacks that I have checked." - Dr. Norm Evans

We purchased Xena at the 2005 AOBA National for her beautiful true black fleece and her beautiful sire, CPeruvian Black. Xena is a Reserve Color Champion! Xena has given us two wonderful true black Color Champion winning crias sired by our 7X Champion SA Peruvian Black Epic - top winning full Peruvian black male in the US!! Xena's first cria is Color Champion Hobby Horse Princess Livia sold at the 2007 National Elite auction to the Kyger family of Maple Grove Alpacas. Xena's second cria is a terrific male - Color Champion Hobby Horse Black Epic's Signature.

Xena's third cria is multi Champion Hobby Horse Simply Scrumptious "Chocolat" sired by our own 6X Ch CPeruvian Winchester.

Xena's fourth cria is a full brother to Chocolat - he is Hobby Horse Winchester's Warlord and looks to be dark brown and very fine and dense. We are excited about him!

Make Xena your champion producing machine!!
