DUTCHESS’ BONITA
Bonita is a great production female. She breeds easily, births on her own, gives great milk, and grows big strong cria.
While she doesn’t provide an abundace of fleece, what she does produce is very fine and soft, and makes wonderful yarn.
Bonita’s sire is Pperuvian Fidel, and her grandsire was Navigator. When bred to our VAC Grand Leo, a Pachacuti son, she produced a Blue ribbon winning daughter. Her grand daughters also have won many ribbons. Her latest criation, Lucchese, a handsome bay black boy, took sixth place at the 2006 North American show. This was a very tough group that included a Dom Lucilio son.
Bonita is again bred to VAC Grand Leo for an August ‘06 cria.

  VAC GRAND LEO
    Dark Fawn, 826820, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

VAC Leo, son of full-accoyo 4Peruvian Pachacuti, is a handsome, densely-boned, macho male weighing in at 240 lbs! He has very dense crimpy coverage with ringlets down to his toes; yet his fiber is fine and has an incredible handle. His CV continues to go down (16.8 at his 2005 shearing!) and he imparts these wonderful fiber characteristics to his progeny. He has his sire's stately head and perfect bite -- his teeth have never been trimmed. He has always settled his dates on the first try, making him an ideal candidate for drive-by breedings which are offered at a discount. Leo's dam's sire is Bravo Bravo HST G468, at one time the highest selling male in the country.

Leo currently has 8 offspring on the ground, with three more on the way, and all have been an overall improvement on the dam. In Fall 2004 one of Leo's offspring, Araxie, took a 1st place in the ring and Reserve Champion in the fleece show at the 2005 Empire Extravaganza Alpaca Show.

Araxie is a big, beautiful medium brown female. She has everything going for her. Size, perfect confirmation, lots of dense fleece, and a look that says she knows it!
When shown under Jude Andersen at 14 mo. Of age, she had this to say. “ This is a perfect example of a yearling female Huacuya alpaca. Perfect confirmation, consistent crimp from her topknot to her to her tail”. Jude pulled her to the front of the line, in 1st place and never looked back as she compared the rest of the group to fill the next five spots.

Araxie had her second Forrester cria on 10/11/08, and he is just as spectacular as the first. Super dense and shiny fleece, with wonderful handle.
Araxie comes with 2 breedings to any Adirondack Alpaca Breeders Ass. herdsires. Visit www.adirondackalpacabreeders.com. to view.
