Dark Brown, 848959, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

|
| | | Sable was the first cria born on our farm and holds a special place in our hearts. She is an Incan Magic and Andean Gold grandaughter. Her fleece is simply wonderful-soft and luxurious bundles of dense Dark Brown fiber covering her from head to toe. Her mom is Dark Rose Grey and she has grey in her fleece as well. We hope she will pass this on to her cria. She is a true foundation female and has been bred for the first time this spring to our full Peruvian True Black herdsire, Brio. They should make magic. And they did......see Rivanna Andean Silver! | |

Brio is a full Peruvian, compact male with True Black fiber of the finest quality. Dense fleece, beautiful hand, medium amplitude crimp and incredible brightness. He sparkles in the sunlight. His fiber measures 23.4 microns at 4 1/2 years old with a comfort factor of 93.3, which indicates very little guard hair in his blanket!! On March 31st, Brio put his first cria on the ground. A beautiful True Black girl! On May 3rd, he gave us a magnificent Silver Grey future herdsire!

Rivanna Andean Silver is the first Grey born our farm. His father is our blue ribbon winner Full Peruvian True Black herdsire, Brio and his mom, Snowmass Andean Sable, a lovely dark brown, was the first girl born our farm. She comes down from Andean Gold and Incan Magic, both important Peruvian imports owned by Snowmass Alpacas.
"Bunker" (named after Bunker Hunt who cornered the silver market in the 1980's) is a fine fleeced silver grey with with almost a blue cast to his fleece. Exceptional staple length, excellent density and consistent low amplitude, high frequency crimp. Large boned and conformationally correct, he has the stature and developed into a beautiful herdsire. This one is definitely a keeper! His cria are very fine (AFD of 15) fleeced with extremely soft hand.
We will be retaining multiple breedings.
