| | | Avatar's first crias hit the show ring with a bang!
Delphi's Devamani (pictured here) and Avatar's Ironman (owned by Amy Crane) each received Blue ribbons and then Reserve Championships at the Alpaca Futurity in Indianapolis. Both are juvenile rose grays - one from a bay black and one from a maroon mom. Then Devamani brought home the Color Championship from the level 5 Great Western Alpaca Show and the National AOBA show in Utah. In addition, Avatar's gray son Avalance (owned by Amanda Villareal) brought home a red ribbon from Alpacapalooza, and a blue at the Monterey Pronk. We are so excited to have confirmation that Avatar is passing along his phenomenal qualities.
Avatar has exceptionally crimpy, dense, uniform, fine fleece - with a phenomenal handle. He also has exceptional bone and coverage, and a gorgeous typey head. Goliath is currently the ONLY Medium Fawn male of Multi-Champion Rose Grey "Avatar".
Referred to as "Vicuna Grey" -Medium Fawn with vicuna markings (no roaning whatsoever)from 2 grey parents (A safe bet for those grey breeding programs)
Goliath has great presence - beautiful golden fleece with a crimpy, long staple length. With his beautiful head, and "studly aloof manner", he is certainly doing his part to be a very typey up and coming herdsire. Afterall, he or his fleece has placed at every show!!
To boot, he is 1/4 Accoyo, compliments of his light silver grey dam, daughter of Accoyo Santino and grand daughter to Ppperuvian Dracula, Goliath's genetics are quite sought after.
At last year's MAPACA and in an enormous class, Goliath's fleece fineness and character was emphasized by Dr.Julio Sumar as a specific criteria that is preferred in selecting males for breeding. In all of Goliath's fleece shows, Goliath has received scores of 19 and above out of 20 for Fineness and Handle.
Goliath represents an amazing array of colors that he could possibly produce with a variety of females all with the prime qualities we are striving for.
Since we haven't had a girl YET...we simply have to make some room! Goliath is much needed and desired in our breeding program and we will retain 2 breedings.
