Leon is currently owned by Heart’s Desire Farm – they are so impressed with this fella that he is on the front page of their website as part of their logo.

Leon is also referenced in Mike Saffley’s book “Ideal Alpacas”. Page 32 “Accoyo’s Leon arrived at Northwest Alpacas Ranch, one of twenty-one Accoyo huacayas imported in 1994. Lion clipped 12 pounds of fleece per year and was among the first ideal alpaca type imported in the United States.”

When we first saw Elana, we mistook her for a snowball! She has very dense fiber with nice character. Elana takes after her sire, Peruvian Accoyo Leon who is well known for his dense fiber and heavy shear weights. Even after giving birth twice, Elana’s fleece continued to win ribbons placing 2nd in the 2005 New England Coastal Classic and 3rd in the 2005 AOBA Nationals.

Elana is a very attentive mom who has blessed us with five beautiful COLORED crias (2 females and 3 males). All five of her births were unassisted. She has ample milk and her crias have been up and nursing quickly with strong IgGs.

Elana's 1st cria, Marlana (light fawn) ribboned in every class entered including 1st place fleece in 2006 at SEPA and the New England Coastal Classic (NECC). This girl has presence, personality and great fiber!

Elana's 2nd cria, Sophie (dark fawn), also won many awards including 3rd place fleece at SEPA and 4th place fleece at AOBA Nationals in 2006. Sophie's first year micron was 17.9 with a curve over 50! Sophie sold at just 2 months of age.

Elana's 3rd cria, Manhattan (light brown), was a multi-ribbon winner placing 4th in a large class of males at the North American Alpaca Show in March 07 and 3rd at the Big E 9/07.

Elana's 4th cria , Sabre (med brown), sired by Crescent Moon's Semper Fidelis had beautiful dark points. Sabre was entered in two Level 5 shows and placed 2nd at MAPACA '08 and 3rd at the NAAS '08!

Elana's 5th cria , Montezuma (light brown), was also sired by Semper Fidelis. Montezuma is a wonderful boy with great fleece - just like his brothers and sisters. Be sure to check out his listing and his photo to the right. Zuma took 1st place at NAAS, a Level 5 show and RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION at the Big E!

Elana is ready to breed back now - buyers choice from our champion males. Recently reduced $5K and currently offered at $14,900

  Awards Received
At five years of age, Elana's micron was an impressive 24.9 with a very low CV of 16.9. Her crimp was high frequency with a comfort factor over 90% - WOW!

Plus all of Elana's crias have been easy to handle and are show winners themselves.
