First Edition

True Black, 1196917

First Edition, call name Effie, is THE foundation female at Tanglewood Farm since she was also the first cria born to the farm here. She is a statuesque, true black girl with a commanding presence.
Effie's fiber is very soft, long, and lustrous and spins up into a lovely yarn. Her fiber is so black it almost looks blue. Her spun yarn placed sixth in the spun yarn competition at Ohio Alpaca Fest in 2005.

On 9/11/2008 Effie produced her third cria, a coal black male who will be named Ike because he was born as the hurricane by that name was rushing to Texas. Look for him to take the shows by storm next year. Ike's sire is Melody Lane's Peruvian Black Rebel, a very handsome, true black, full Peruvian boy owned by Jim and Mimi Foster of Melody Lane Alpacas. Ike was born without any human intervention, was up and nursing in no time, and has very crimpy, long, soft coal black fiber.

Effie has been rebred to our rose gray boy, Jazarah's Rajah, for an early

LB Copper Moon is an aggressive, stately, proven herdsire with a great attitude, and with ribbons for his exceptionally dense brown, coppery fiber. He is a quick breeder and very easy to handle.

His first two crias were true black females. He has now produced five girls of which three are true black, and one true black male.

My Tanglewood Ebony is a true black with great conformation and presence. Both dam and grand dam are true blacks. Sire, LB Copper Moon, is a 5Peruvian Camelot son and a grandson of Peruvian Gold Rush. Ebony, has her mother's bone, structure and straight legs . She is easy to lead and has no problems getting bred and/or delivering her crias.
Ebony gave birth in July 2008 to a dark rose gray male by Casanova's Rakam Birisi, a medium grey. Birisi is the son of Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, who was Futurity Herdsire of the Year in 2003 and the sire of Snowmass Nova. Ebony's sire, LB Copper Moon, is also sire of three true black females. She, like her dam, First Edition, is an exceptional mother, and easy birther with lots of good milk for her cria. Ebony is a third generation true black and has been bred to Kaleidoscope's Make It So, a rose grey for a spring 2010 cria. Financing is available.
