| | | Mira is a beauty. Her calm personality and soft, lustrous fiber would make her an asset to any herd. Her fall 2004 cria, Miss Maudie, was so lustrous that she looked wet for the first week after she was born. Mira also passed her beautiful luster to Prospero, her 2005 cria out of Canela's Truman. While both Maudie and Prospero are white, the 2006 cria has Truman's color--light fawn with just a hint of pink. He doesn't have a name yet, but we're thrilled with both his fleece and his confirmation! Mira has been bred back to Truman for her fall 2007 cria.
The afghan made from Mira's leg and neck fiber brought home no less than three ribbons (see the list below)from the handicraft competition at the 2006 AOBA National Show in Louisville. The judge "loved the hand, feel and drape" . . . imagine if we'd used her good blanket fiber! | |

| | | Truman is truly a "curly" critter! His conformation and proportions are solid, but it's his fleece that steals the show. It's a light fawn that fades to almost white on his belly, lighter on the tips and a pinkish fawn at the skin (that doesn't really show up in the picture above) with consistent crimp and luster. Truman's first crias arrived this fall and both are beautiful. The one here at Curly Eye, Prospero, has fleece coming out in tight, crimpy little beige bundles. | |
