 Anchor Ranch Alpacas was conceived in April 2003 when two Navy retirees decided to combine resources and purchase three Huacaya alpacas for breeding. The ranch has a small foundation herd of ribbon winning animals with full Peruvian bloodlines that include Accoyo Chimborazo, Bueno, Hemingway, Royal Fawn, Yupanqui, Pacacuti, Camilio and Caligula.
