AlpacaNation: How did you decide on your farm name? Is there a special meaning behind the name?
ShaDo Alpacas: It's simply a combination of our first names. Nothing too exciting, but we never forget it! Our other option was DoSh and that just didn't feel right....
AlpacaNation: How did you become interested in alpacas?
ShaDo Alpacas: We were looking for a way to utilize our property to it's full potential but wanted to do something that we both loved and found enjoyable. Alpacas were the perfect solution.
AlpacaNation: What advice would you give to those just getting started in the industry?
ShaDo Alpacas: Have existing pasture grass tested, and do not bring you Alpaca's home until you have the results. We had our's tested, but brought our animals home before we got the results. We had to scramble to replant grass and rotate our animals due to a presence of endophytes.
