This is the girl!!! Loving and gentle, with beautiful buttery fleece. 2nd Place winner at Txolan 08; at just 6 months old. The judge was struck by how soft her fleece was. This girl is what we are about. Selective breeding and socialization, creates great alpacas. Queenie is currently bred to FFTX Cody!! This cria will be unbelievable. Queenie already is very dense and soft, with Cody's traits we'll have to shear their cria twice a year!!

Details March 20-21, 2010 - Hempstead TX Alpaca Information Seminar: Join the Alpaca Ranches of South Central Texas for our Spring Alpaca Information Seminar to be held on March 20 and 21, 2010. Saturday will be an all day alpaca basics seminar conducted by alpaca ranchers with a combined total of over 50 years of experience raising alpacas in the southern climate. Sunday will be open barns at all of the host ranches. Take advantage of our experience and see how all of us have our alpaca ranches set up for success. Participants will hear from a CPA who has years of experience working with alpaca clients. Fee includes the seminar, a notebook of handouts and three meals. Details March 25-26, 2010 - Crane TX 2010 Annual Fleece Harvest: Come see what it's all about, the annual harvest of our fiber. Don't know what an alpaca is? Details April 10, 2010 - Rusk TX Free Open Ranch Day: This is the last opportunity to see the alpacas and mini-llamas in full fleece before shearing! Details April 17-18, 2010 - Rosharon (Zipcode 77583) TX Open Barn and Shearing Day: Alpaca shearing will be taking place during the day. For anyone interested in working with alpacas there will be opportunities to get hands on experience with the animals. Details April 18, 2010 - Rusk 75785 TX Shearing Day: This is the day when we harvest the wonderful fleeces that the alpacas and llamas grew out the previous year. We use a team of professional shearers to clip the animals. Alpaca and llama owners are welcome to bring their animals for shearing, but please contact me in advance to confirm number of animals and cost. Owners bringing animals for shearing are expected help out. Details April 21-22, 2010 - Levelland TX Annual Shearing Event: Monaco Pines will once again host an Annual Shearing Day Event. This event is highly pulicized and open to the community to attend. We will have a professional team of shearers here at the ranch and would like to offer you the opportunity to join in this event. Just let us know by April 1, 2010 how many alpacas/Llamas you will be bringing to be shorn. You must handle your own alpacas and gather your own fleece during the shearing process.
