Snowdrop is another outstanding foundation female we obtained from Chuck and Helen Stewart when they decided to sell us the rest of their herd in the Fall of 2007. Snowdrop produces some of the nicest crias year-after-year and is in the top 15% of all of our females at Black Forest Alpacas. We have two of her daughters and two of her granddaughters in our herd. Her cria from 2007, Stewart's Natalie, is an extremely nice large white juvenile female that has placed in three shows this spring. She received a 6th, a 2nd in a large class at TxOLAN 08, and a very competitive 4th in a class of 14 at GWAS 08. Snowdrop recently delivered a really nice light fawn male out of Silver Rose Rainier born on 25 Jun 08. If you like what you see in Snowdrop and her bloodlines, please take a look at Snowdrop's White Diamond (daughter), Stewart's Natalie (daughter), or Diamond's Crown Julia (Granddaughter), or Blackforest's Malibu Coconut Rum (Granddaughter). All four of these beautiful white
Rainier is a Vicuna colored Full Peruvian & 1/2 Accoyo male herdsire destined to produce some award winning crias due to his color, fineness, and density! With hard to find bloodlines of Ppperuvian Yupanqui and Pperuvian Felix, his bloodline stock is outstanding. We will have about 8 crias from Rainier in 2008 and we are anxious to see how great they look!! Rainier produced an unbelievable 6.38 lbs of prime blanket fleece in 2008 and over 13 lbs total fleece sheared. That is the most we have every had from any alpaca at Black Forest Alpacas. Rainier produced 5.5lbs of prime blanket fleece last year which grew 0.32mm/day. The Stewart's liked what they saw of Rainier at the 2005 AOBA National Show where he placed 3rd in the Beige class. Look for Rainier's offspring to do well in the show ring over the next year or two! Rainier is also a herdsire that we would consider a partnership with a farm that might be interested in owning 1/2 of him!!
Mount Rainier is proof of the phenomenal outcome of two of our very best breeding pair. MFI Peruvian Snowdrop produced some extremely high quality females and males over the years and Mount Rainier is no exception. Silver Rose Rainier, his sire, sheared 13 lbs of premium fleece in 2008 and is a blue ribbon winning male with Yupanqui and Felix bloodlines. Mt Rainier has outstanding fiver architecture and correct conformation. His fine, dense fiber and outstanding brightness demonstrates the quality of our breeding program.. He is a multi Color Champion! At the 2014 Great Western Alpaca Show, Mt Rainier won The Spirit of the Fiber Industry Award. This award is presented to a mature alpaca who is maintaining all the positive fleece characteristics. Mt Rainier maxed out points on fineness at 7 years old! Judge Cheryl Gehlys comment on the score card, This is such a joy!! Simply fantastic all around! If you are looking for retained fiber, excellent brightness and consistent crimp, check out Mount Rainier today!
