Butterscotch Ripple

Beige, 852095, 1/2 Bolivian, 1/2 Peruvian

APRIL SPICE is her cria born on April 1,2009, a beautiful fawn girl being offered for sale on an APRIL SPECIAL PRICE for only $8,000. DUTCH is Ripple's white male cria born on May 13, 2010 out of Peruvian Master Musician,a fading fawn that possibly carries recessive Brown. Dutch was over 20 lbs at birth and is growing rapidly. At 6.5 weeks old, I could fit a cria halter on him! Dutch has a fine white fleece and massive bone. If you want to come see him or buy him before weaning, I would sell him to a fiber herd unless you are looking for bright white and very fine fleece. It does not currently have that berber rug look and it is getting some crimp structure. Remember that Butterscotch is a fine girl herself and has maintained that fineness. I can't keep most of my boys this year, so he IS available. All offers considered!

Butterscotch Ripple is a proven mother with good bone, nice density, soft fleece at 23 microns in 2008 shearing at five years old. She has a well shaped head

April Spice is Butterscotch Ripple's 2009 cria of FUTURITY HERDSIRE full Accoyo Multi "Frisco". He is from the Felix/Leon Accoyo lines and is SUPER DENSE. His crias also are very typically FAWN with some white markings.

April has a white 'seagull' imprinted narrowly on the back of her head. It is difficult to see right now. Other than that she is solid fawn. She has a long staple length and shows bundling and crimp. She also sports a nice looking topknot.

She is at least 1/2 Accoyo as Butterscotch is out of the Jolimont breeding program and sports color genetics in that line. Her greatgrandsire/dam were both from the Alianza Huarapina in Peru and grandsire Shandar was a Blue Ribbon Herdsire in Canada sporting a 12 lb fleece with medium crimp and bundling. We feel Butterscotch contributes lasting fineness to all her cria as well as a gentle personality, easy birther, well boned, and good milker. April's half brother Dutch was one of our largest newborn cria to date at 24 lbs.

The other half of the equation when looking for breeding stock is reproduction ability and easy birthing with good milking. We feel April Spice would be a fantastic breeder due to these attributes in her dam!

Genetically, she would be a dominant fawn, possibly with the white spot gene and her recessive gene would be fawn or DARKER according to alpaca color genetics!

I will breed her to a darker solid male this summer when it cools off a bit as I would like to try to bring out the darker genetics.

April was not shown as we did not go to the shows this year. But she has nice square conformation and her fleece is looking good!
