Artist Artemis

True Black, 818601, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Other/Unknown

Artemis is an easy birther with heavy milk and 18 lb babies. True Black dominant and recessive! She has white muzzle so carries the white spot gene. This deep True Black fleeced dam with outstanding BRIGHTNESS, is the daughter of MULTI-CHAMPION MSG sire REQUEST THE BEST, winner of 11 blue ribbons before the industry had championships. The depth of her color is indicative of the silver grey in her bloodlines.

An experienced mom, her CRIAS have always been born WITHOUT ASSISTANCE and have enjoyed an ABUNDANT MILK supply. Artemis is a quick and easy breeder, usually taking on the first "date." She maintains 170-200 lbs.

The proud dam of 5 outstanding crias, True Black 2002 Artemis'Oreo Ari 841020, dark fawn 2005 Remington's Shadow Ari 1312539, and 2006 med fawn Bolero's Kodiak ARI 30670372. Prior to my purchase, Artemis was mildly involved in the LOL feed poisoning and aborted her 2003 cria during that crisis when the entire herd was transported to OSU. To date she is hea

Here is the ability to produce the GREYS and the BLACKS that your breeding program requires.

Already a FARM FAVORITE, everyone is talking about Artemis' new baby boy, "Ridin' Solo" and how great his fiber is at only 2 days old! He wasn't born yesterday! Oh wait, yes he was!! But he is rapidly maturing and already out in the field keeping up with the herd! We won't laugh at him for the somersault he took today while taking a 'morning ritual' either!!

Farm visitors have commented how delighted they were when feeling his fiber as I showed him off! This baby boy has amazing dense, crimpy fiber! He will be halter and obstacle trained so he will always be easy to work with! I will be picking up his feet, too, so any nail trimming will be an easy job. After all, for obstacle and performance, you have to pick up feet, too! He will be a future publicity alpaca, and we will train him to give kisses and eat carrots!

Ridin' Solo already has phenomenal, soft, bundling fiber, and great conformation. He is a joy to behold! He would make a great addition to a herd recognized for their fiber, and since he is a BEW, it would be the owner's decision about how to make the best use of him for their farm. Right now he would be PERFECT for a young person or a 4-H project to use in obstacle/performance/showmanship next spring, and for the next two show years!

He will be weaned March 7th, 2011 as Artemis always grows them up fast with plenty of strength in her milk! And we will be giving those vit A&D supplements to increase his bone strength as he grows. He is a fine strong young boy and we are quite happy with him as a Public Relations Alpaca!

  Awards Received
If you 'need' two alpacas cause this is your first, you can combine him with Dutch as they will be close to the same age and make payments on the second animal! We just want to make sure he goes to a loving home where he can help your farms publicity!
