DDF Sophia

Dark Fawn, 801488, Full Peruvian

Sophia is that very special alpaca that we all hope to one day have in our own suri herd! She has an exceptional pedigree, exceptional quality, exceptional personality and produces EXCEPTIONAL cria, year after year! Her dam was considered to be one of the finest colored Peruvian female suris to enter the United States. A half-sister to both MacGyver, 3-time Herdsire of the Year at AAA Futurity and Peruvian Gracie (deceased), Sophia has proven her worth on OUR farm and remains one of our premier foundation females.

Sophia's cria have all been 1st place ribbon winners in their classes, including her 2003 Captain Morgan daughter, Satin Doll, who at just a year of age garnered a Color Champion, 2 Reserve Color Champions and four 1st place finishes! Sophia has produced 5 crias out of 5 different sires and they have all been exceptional quality. Her 2007 cria, Sophia's Augustina, was named after her maternal granddam and, given HER quality, she's destined to carry on the award-winning

  ATC Carbon Fiber by Torbio
    True Black, 30943339, 1/8 Bolivian, 1/4 Chilean, 5/8 Peruvian

Check out our next generation herdsire - Carbon Fiber by Torbio! One of only 3 true black offspring of this (now deceased!) suri icon, "Carbo" is destined to make a name for himself in the suri world.

We were on a mission to find a young male who was unrelated to anything we had on our farm and we found him in Carbo. He has the fiber characteristics and conformation that we are looking for in our herdsires. An early breeder (settled his first female at 23 months of age), he has been a very aggressive breeder, settling most girls with one breeding

His color production is 2nd to none! He's produced 30 cria with 17 of them being true blacks! And, only 2 of those dams were black. This boy does a fabulous job of imparting, not only his fine fiber characteristics, but doing it in everything from beige to true black (beige & true black offspring out of the same female!) We're very excited about what Carbo has been producing on our farm and are anxious to see what he can do for

WAP's Little Black Dress

Listed at $7500 by Randy & Barbara Coleman of Amity, OR

Print Listing | Certificate | Histogram

Strut that stuff in your Little Black Dress - classy picture for a classy little girl! "Dressy" is all dressed up and ready to give a touch of class to your breeding program. From her grandsires (Torbio and Inca) and her granddam (DDF Sophia), the genetics in this female are 2nd to none.

Dressy exemplifies the offspring we've gotten out of both her sire, Carbon Fiber by Torbio, and her dam, DDF Sophia (deceased). Her true black fiber carries luster, density, and consistant lock. She is a classy lady, a standout in the pasture. AND, she can be yours to carry on the genetics that are no more.

Her dam, DDF Sophia, was only 1 of 3 offspring of Peruviain Augustina, thought by many suri breeders to be one of the finest colored suri females ever imported. Both of these girls are now deceased as are the other 2 offspring of Augustina, DDF MacGyver and DDF Gracie. Sophia was an outstanding producer on our farm, giving us 9 offspring in her lifetime. Her maternal qualities set her on a pedestal as THE core female on our farm. Sophia was laid to rest on the top of our hill on Christmas eve, 2012.

Dressy's previous offspring have included a gorgeous dark brown female, Lady Godiva, out of our Admiral's Commandor. Changing it up a bit, Dressy was bred to Dakini Fiery Cross. They produced a stunning medium brown male, Bentley. He was part of our 2018 show string and brought home 1st place ribbons at both Alpacapalooza and GWAS in very competitive classes.

Dressy is bred back to Cross for a June 2019 cria.
