This young herdsire is a real bargain. His genetics are superb with Skywalker, Snowmass, and Hemingway lineage. Prince William has not been used as a stud on our farm for no other reason than just have not found the right pairing for him. He is of amazing quality and we really want him to go to work on someones farm. This is the only reason for his sale price. We simply don't want to waist his potential and we need to reduce our herd size in the coming year.
Prince William's dam Whitney Snow will be featured again at the 2017 AOA Nationals for her Number 1 ranking for Crimp and 3rd for Standard Deviation for crimp EPD, the best in the ARI EPD program. Dam Whitney, is in the top 1% female alpacas for fiber fineness to add to her # 1 ranking in MC. William's Sire Skywalker's Saber is in the top 2%. Mother Whitney still carries a histogram AFD of 19 at age 9. This young boy has real promise as a future herdsire, take a look at his histogram with an AFD of 19, SD of 4.1, and CV of 21, all at age 5. His 2015 shear weight was over 10 lbs. He will have his mother's fineness and crimp, along with the same ability to pass along improved fineness to all of his offspring. Prince William has his father's and grandfather Skywalker lineage density, bundling and fiber weight. Prince William is not only bred for superior EPDs but more importantly for longevity of the fineness, density and fiber weight.
We chose White Saber to compliment Whitney's EPD for fineness and crimp but wanted to insure the cria had more fiber weight, density and staple length without loosing any fineness. This pairing brought together the best of the two genetic traits. Prince William has all the positive genetics to make you a formative herdsire. Don't be fooled by his low auction price, he is of top quality. His 2017 Histogram is outstanding.
This boy has excellent conformation, appropriate bite, square frame and overall ideal phenotype. He will also have the genetic potential to compliment his phenotype. Williams fiber has incredible luster, softness, extreme fineness, density and ample staple length. William was evaluated by Dale Davis and she had everything good to say about him, especially his fineness. Her comment was that in an alpaca show he will do very well especially in fineness. True to that evaluation he took first place and IAO in 2013.
